Summary: The motel is in the heart of the Tenderloin district. Staff was friendly and attentive. The walls were thin, the room smelled like bleach, and I saw one small cockroach during my stay. I felt like this was a solid step up from a hostel or some of the other, more questionable shelter options in the area. I slept well on the bed, the pillows were good, and the water was hot. It was very affordable, I felt safe in the building, and despite the room not having a desk chair initially, the staff was able to have one delivered within 30 minutes of me asking about one. A solid stay overall.

Summary: It was good and area well, it is what it is but it still has it's charm as I used to frequent the neighborhood from back in the day so I can understand how this neighborhood can have a full impact on travelers that are just coming here for the first time. Now on to the hotel that has just opened up a couple of months back this year so you should now hesitate to come check it out!
The new Motel 6 used to be called The Regency Inn from back in the day but then they dropped the name and renamed it to Motel 6 many years later which is nice.
It has its amenities that it offers such as free toiletries, heater, ceiling fan, hair dryer although couldn't find any in my room and the ironing board either but they could send it up if you call and ask. No complimentary breakfast at this time but they do have many stores and eateries in the area so do not hesitate to step out there to explore and check out! Just don't step out after dark but otherwise great stay so far despite of the noises that are coming from both outside and nextdoor as the couple has a German shepherd with them.
